Is your cat plotting to kill you?

No, that cant be true- my beautiful cat would never try to kill me... unless, I forgot to feed her... or poked her in her fluffy tummy... or tried to give her a worming tablet... or woke her up from her beauty sleep...

On a more serious and much scarier note, it is only a couple more days now before exam results come out on Friday. I'm scared. Really scared. If I have failed anything I am going to hide away somewhere where nobody can find me and cry for at least three days straight (probably longer).

If I don't have the relieved look of a graduant about me next time you see me then it would probably be wise not to ask me about my exam results - unless you actually want me to dissolve into tears and give you a soggy shoulder- your choice.

Mum's New Car

While I've been up in the Northern half of the state my Mum decided to buy herself a new car. It was supposed to be a graduation present to herself, but she bought it a little early (but knowing Mum she will get all high distinctions so it wont matter anyway).

Anyhow, for those of you who care about cars, it is a 3 door 2007 Ford Fiesta XR4.

And for those of you who dont, this is what it looks like:

Disclaimer: this is not actually Mum's car because we don't have any photo's of it yet, but this is exactly what it looks like.

Road trip to Port Arthur and other News

Well, now that Tori is back in Tasmania and has regular access to the net and Mum and Dad are back online again it seems like it is worthwhile blogging again.

News:
~My flights have now been booked and finalised and my brother and I leave for Europe on the 18th of January. It is finally starting to feel a little more real (and, therefore, exciting).

~I am currently at Mum and Dad's visiting my beautiful cat who manages to become even more beautiful everytime I see her.

~I have applied for an absolutely awesome job with the Department of Primary Industries and Water as a Wildlife Biologist. I really, really, really, really want this job as it means I could stay in Tassie, keep my flat in Hobart, and have a job where I can do all the things that I like about zoology and spend some time in the field as well as some time in the office.

I took a road trip to Port Arthur with Megan (the American exchange student) and Megan. We had a really great time exploring the beautiful, green Port Arthur and teaching Megan about all sorts of Australian stuff. I even found an Echidna on the side of the road to show her on the way home because it was one of the few Tassie animals she hadn't seen yet. She flies out today and goes back to America just as the weather over here is starting to warm up.

Anyways, here are some photos I took while in Port Arthur. As usual, neither Megan or Megan are in any of the photos which is a shame.

The birthday card Tiani gave me

Tiani got this card for me months before my birthday because it had my name all over it when she saw it.

Happy Birthday to Me!

The day I arrived

Well, I got old, which is a little depressing, but I also got presents which isn't.

Mum, Dad, and Rob all came and stayed with me on the weekend from when I finished my last exam on Saturday until yesterday (Monday) afternoon. Because they weren't going to be around for my actual birthday today we decided that it would be my birthday yesterday instead so I got all my presents then.

I got:
~A sewing machine (which Mum and I both keep accidently calling a washing machine)
~A new set of dinnerware- I'm especially excited by the pasta bowls
~A couple of books- I'm going to start reading again now uni is over.
~A huge jar absolutely packed full of lollies
~And I finally got the virtual villagers computer game (trust me, its a really good thing I didn't have that when I should have been studying for exams).
~and some other stuff : )

I'm going to wait until all my friends have finished their exams before I celebrate my birthday properly, but I have invited them to drop in throughout the day for birthday cake when they feel like a break from studying so hopefully I should have company.

Until then, though, I have my virtual villagers to take care of.

UPDATE TO THE PRECEDING POST

I just had a fantastic birthday.

And why wouldn't I? For starters it went all weekend long right through until today. Also it is starting to sink in that I have hopefully graduated. And today I was visited and rang up and texted by some (well actually most) of my very favourite people : )

Thankyou to everybody- all my friends and family (even the fuzzy ones) -for helping me celebrate the depressing fact that I am getting old : )

And also the guy at the movie shop that discovered it was my birthday when I rented a DVD and made me smile : )

Sunday 2 November 2008

I finished : )

I have finally finished my last exam.

It went really well (at least I think it did).

Now I would like to sleep for about a week before getting down to the serious business of finding a job.
