One down ...

Thats one exam over and done with! I now have a serious case of exam mush (exam finished about 30 min ago), but I'm glad its over.

It went pretty well. I could answer everything that I needed too, but some of my answers probably weren't quite as long and detailed as they should have been.

That officialy now means I no longer have to do zoology for the rest of the year (unless I get a supp- but unless some huge catastrophe happened I'm 99% sure I've passed).

Now I'm going to take the rest of the day off before I start studying for my Genetics exam on Tuesday.

Guess What!!!!

I got a high distinction for my zoology prac test! Not quite the highest mark in the class (about 5th out of 60), but it puts me in a good position for the exam tommorow. I wasn't sure wether or not to get my result before the exam because I wouldn't want to know if it was bad news, but I'm really happy I did now.

"Put a geranium in your hat and be happy!"

I have bronchitis and am back on antibiotics, I have a house inspection tommorow and an exam the day after, but its all ok because I can "put a geranium in my hat and be happy"- one of the geranium cuttings I planted a few months back has suddenly erupted in flowers : )

Ok, I have to go back to studying now. I'm definately getting a lot out of my study and I'm not quite so scared of the exam as I was.

hello again world

Hello all,

I'm extremely bored of studying! I have had a headache all day, but I've been very good and studied anyway because I have limited time to fit in all the study I have to do before the exam. I have now covered everything that I wanted to cover, and there is only one thing I don't understand- the difference between the holonephros kidney and the metanephros kidney. I will have to ask my lecture about that at the tutorial on Monday morning.

Now I want to take my washing down to the laundromat and get it dry (it rained this arvo when my washing was nearly dry) before New Tricks comes on tonight. Maybe I should have another nanna nap instead- I had one yesterday afternoon- I wasn't planning to- in fact I didn't even know I was until I woke up and realised that half an hour was missing, presumed drowned (at school everytime anything was missing Mrs Carins sad it was "missing, presumed drowned"- do you remember that?)

Anywho, I'd better get in my little broom-broom car and go to the laundromat. As long as I don't have the nap while I'm meant to be driving... Barry is a good little car, but I think he still needs some input from me when we're driving somewhere : )

Oh, P.S. Rainbow (the cat) showed up in my garden again yesterday. Remember there were two things I wasn't going to do with Rainbow- feed her or let her inside my house- well, I kinda did them both. Letting her inside was an accident. She slipped in the door while I was talking to her. Feeding her was slightly more my fault, but she felt really skinny (at least compared to Fidget she was really skinny- she actually wasn't that bad).

Here is a photo I took of her a couple of months ago in case you haven't seen her.

*Poof* (That was me disappearing into a cloud of smoke- Bye)

I hate uni!

Finally! I've finished my module report for E.E.S. Its worth 45% of my overall mark in the subject so there is A LOT of work in it. It just needs proof reading now before handing in tommorow.

Now Ayden and I are going to have a picnic tea : ) I'm just waiting for him to get here.

Thanks to everyone who commented on my last post (especially my little puddy tat- love you baby)

Anyways, See you Bye

Why doesn't anyone love me?

I'm very, very disappointed with the fact that I hardly ever get any comments on my blog- its not fair. I have friends- I swear I do, they must be around here somewhere.
Maybe they are all just lazy bums that can't be bothered having an opinion about anything.
Come on people- make me feel special- send me a comment- I don't care what it says- just show me you love me...

Emma's Vampire Prince

Megan and I were googling some stuff in preparation for our prac tests- and while I was waiting for her to give me some search terms I put her name in. It came up with some interesting stuff, but when we put mine in we got something much cooler. Check out the story that someone wrote about me and a vampire prince...

The Diplomacy of Love

Megan is now really jealous that no one has written a cool story about her- so she is probably going to spend the next few days writting one about a smerf prince and fail her prac test (at least that's what she said this morning).

P.S. We only procrastinated for a few minutes before going back to studying : )

Emma's number 1 reason not to live alone...

There was a HUGE spider in my bathroom last night and I had to kill it all by myself

Yes, I'm still alive, Rob : )

Hi,

Its been a while since I've posted, but then what do you expect at the end of semester? Everything is pretty crazy at the moment, but I'm rejoicing in the fact that there is only one week left of semester.

So what do you need to know?
-Those people who noticed that some of the "mint" seedlings didn't actually look like mint seedlings were right. I'd forgotten, but the mint seedlings were the only ones that I planted in soil from the garden rather than potting mix so I guess there must have been other seeds in it. I have now culled out everything that looked suspiciously un-mint-like. I still have plenty of mint seedlings to share around, though.
- My sunflower seedlings have now come up!
- My freesias have come out
- One of my neighbours has moved out (unfortunately not the one I don't like) after only having lived here for about 4 weeks
- Ayden and I went for an adventure to find some rocks to edge my garden
- I got a postcard from Maryanne today : )
- I have just gotten back two of my major assignments and I passed them : )
- Next week I have two prac tests (Microbiology on Thursday, Zoology on Friday). Both are worth 20% of the overall mark in each respective course. Seriously stressing about both of them- lots and lots of work to do over the next week. I'm pretty confident with Zoo, but not very sure about Micro.
- Dienece is coming to Tassie for a week. She flies in on Tuesday (beautiful timing- right at the end of semester and begining of exams when I really should be studying rather than spending time with my best friend). I'm going to take Sat off and spend the entire day with her- after all I'm her maid of honour so I have to help with the wedding invitations : )

Ok, that's all we have time for folks. I'll leave you with some photos of my new rock edge and the beautiful freesias.
my new rocks : )

Look what I can do !...

Hey, look! I got to extract DNA (I've done that before in Genetics), use enzymes to cut it into pieces, amplify it, and load it onto an electrophoresis gel.

The photo is of a photo of the electrophoresis gel under UV light (we added fluorescent dye to the DNA) and a tiny little vial of the amplified DNA (with dye- that's why its red).

I feel like a proper little scientist now :)

Good homes needed for babies...

Mint seedlings photographed with their neighbours the chive plants

Ok, so I've had two people offer to adopt some of my baby mint plants, but there are still way too many of them for the three of us. I didn't actually mean to plant all of them at once, but the entire packet of seeds rushed out so I decided to just leave it that way and let the strongest survive. Anyway, I've decided to post a picture of them so you will see how cute they are and wont be able to resist adopting some.

Picture worth a thousand words.

I feel like....

On top of everything I think I've gotten Andrew's cold...

emma's new drugs

Sorry no exciting picture with this post. I just wanted to inform all of you that I was telling the truth when I told turkeybrain that I was going to be given some new exciting drugs when I visited the Dr today. These ones are so exciting that the pharmacist wouldn't give them to me until he had taken me aside and warned me how dangerous they can be. Unfourtunately, I've had experience with this sort of drug before- I absolutely hate them- and everybody hates living with me when I'm on them. So for those of you who are in my end of the state you could be in for an interesting week, but it will be worth it if I get well for the run up to exams. Just don't be surprised if you find me sitting in a corner in a puddle of tears several times this week- I really, really hate these drugs.
